Plessey Woods Country Park
Northumberland County Council country park of about 100 acres on the River Blyth at Hartford Bridge, with riverside and woodland paths, a play area, climbing boulders and a visitor centre cafe.
About Plessey Woods Country Park
Plessey Woods is a country park of just over 100 acres on the north bank of the River Blyth, off the A192 at Hartford Bridge, between Cramlington and Bedlington. Run by Northumberland County Council, it mixes woodland, meadows and riverside, with a main circuit of about one and a half miles and shorter paths shared with cyclists and horse riders.
By the entrance there is a children's play area and picnic area overlooked by the visitor centre cafe, and older children can try the climbing boulders or the self-guided orienteering route, with maps from the visitor centre. Entry has no charge, but the car park is pay and display after the first hour, and the vehicle gates are open in daylight hours only.
