Best Solicitors in Cramlington
Three SRA-regulated solicitors with offices in Cramlington: Yarwood Holmes Law in the old village, Browell Smith & Co at Apex Business Village in Annitsford, and Kirbys Solicitors at Manor Walks.
Most people only need a solicitor a few times in their lives: buying or selling a house, making a will, sorting out an estate after a death, or going through a separation. When that time comes, it helps to know who is local.
Below are three solicitors' practices with offices in Cramlington. One is in the old village, one is at Apex Business Village in Annitsford on the southern edge of the town, and one is a small practice at Manor Walks. We checked each firm on the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) register in November 2026, and all three were listed as authorised. This guide does not give legal advice. Speak to a solicitor about your own situation.

Yarwood Holmes Law
Yarwood Holmes Law has its head office at Gladstone House on Church Street in the old village, and a second Cramlington office at Blagdon House on Smithy Square. It also has offices in Blyth, Low Fell and Whickham. The SRA lists the company as a recognised body.
Its website lists family law and divorce, criminal defence, property and conveyancing, and life planning and probate, and it also offers wills online. The family and criminal teams have out-of-hours phone lines, which matters if someone has been arrested or there is an urgent child arrangements issue. Call 0191 500 9337.
Best for: a single local firm for family, criminal and property matters, with someone reachable outside office hours.
Browell Smith & Co
Browell Smith & Co has its head office at Apex Business Village in Annitsford, just off the A189 at the southern edge of Cramlington. It also has offices in Ashington, Newcastle and Sunderland, and says it has served the North East for more than 30 years. The SRA has listed the company as a recognised body since 2011.
The firm is best known for personal injury and medical negligence claims. It also handles family law, wills, trusts and probate, and residential conveyancing. Call 0800 107 3000.
Best for: injury and medical negligence claims, and a larger firm with several North East offices.
Kirbys Solicitors
Kirbys Solicitors is a small practice at Suite 4, Dudley Court, off Dudley Lane by Manor Walks. The SRA lists it as a recognised sole practice. When we checked, the firm's website was showing only a holding page, so ring first to ask whether it can take on your kind of matter. The number on the SRA register is 01670 733822.
Best for: a small local practice where you deal directly with the solicitor.
How to choose a solicitor in Cramlington
- Check the register. Every solicitors' firm in England and Wales must be authorised by the SRA. You can look up any firm or individual solicitor on the SRA's register at sra.org.uk, and firms should show the SRA's clickable badge on their website.
- Ask for costs in writing. Firms must publish prices for some types of work, including residential conveyancing and uncontested probate. Ask for a written estimate and what it includes, such as searches, Land Registry fees and VAT.
- Match the firm to the job. Conveyancing, probate, family and criminal work are quite different specialisms. Ask who will handle your matter and how much experience they have in that area.
- Ask about legal aid. Legal aid is still available for some criminal and family matters. Ask the firm whether you might qualify before you agree to pay privately.
- Know where to complain. If something goes wrong, complain to the firm first. If that does not resolve it, the Legal Ombudsman deals with service complaints, and the SRA deals with concerns about a solicitor's conduct.
