Where to Park in Cramlington

Manor Walks' car parks and the four-hour limit, the Park Plus pass, council car parks, the station, the emergency care hospital, Plessey Woods, Northumberlandia, EV charging and Blue Badge parking: a practical guide to parking in Cramlington.

Cramlington.live·

Cramlington was planned as a new town in the 1960s, built around the car, so parking is easier here than in most Northumberland towns. The town centre car parks at Manor Walks have no charge. The places that do charge are the railway station, the emergency care hospital and Plessey Woods Country Park. The main rule to remember is the four-hour limit at Manor Walks.

Charges and rules change, so always check the signs on the day. The prices below were correct at the time of writing.

Manor Walks car parks (no charge, 4 hours)

Manor Walks, the shopping and leisure centre at the heart of town, says it has more than 1,500 parking spaces, and that parking is always free. It lists these car parks, with postcodes for sat nav:

  • East Mall car park (by Sainsbury's): NE23 6UW
  • West Mall car park (by ASDA): NE23 6YB
  • South Mall car park (by the Vue cinema): NE23 6UL
  • Northumbria House car park (Forum Way): NE23 6YD
  • Overflow car park (Forum Way): NE23 6AY

Shoppers can stay for up to four hours. Northumberland County Council's Cramlington car parks page says the Manor Walks car parks are managed by Excel Parking Services, so the limit is enforced. Campervans and motorhomes are welcome in the overflow car park, and there is a taxi drop-off and pick-up point in the East car park next to Sainsbury's.

The centre itself opens from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday, although some shops, restaurants and the cinema keep their own hours.

Best for:

Going to the cinema, the leisure centre or a restaurant as well as the shops? Ask for a Park Plus pass (details below) before your four hours run out.

Park Plus: two extra hours

If you visit one of Manor Walks' leisure venues, you can stay for two extra hours. Collect a Park Plus pass from staff at Concordia Leisure Centre, the Vue cinema or one of the Manor Walks restaurants, and display it on your windscreen. That takes you to six hours in total, which is handy for a swim followed by lunch or a film.

Concordia Leisure Centre

Concordia Leisure Centre is on Forum Way (NE23 6YB), part of the Manor Walks complex, so you park in the same car parks. The four-hour limit applies, and the Park Plus pass is the way to extend it. Its operator, Places Leisure, lists accessible parking at the centre. See our guide to swimming in Cramlington for what is on offer inside.

Council car parks

Northumberland County Council lists two other car parks in Cramlington alongside Manor Walks, Middle Farm and Smithy Square. Both are listed as having no charge, with an all-day maximum stay, and no parking disc is needed in Cramlington. The council's page was last updated in February 2025, so check the signs when you arrive.

Westmorland Retail Park

The retail park next to Manor Walks has its own shared, open-air car park. The AccessAble guide to the Next store there says the car park has no charge for all users and includes designated Blue Badge bays. It is privately run, so read the signs for any time limit.

Cramlington railway station

Cramlington station is about five minutes' walk from Manor Walks, according to the centre. Northern runs a 50-space car park at the station. At the time of writing its prices were:

  • Up to 2 hours (no return): 60p
  • Up to 4 hours (no return): £1.10
  • All day: £2.20
  • Overnight (4pm to 7.59am): 60p
  • Weekly: £8.80, monthly: £34, annual: £352

Pay with RingGo, using location code 5718. Northern lists no accessible bays in the station car park, though there is step-free access from the car park to the station entrance and a set-down point. Our guide to getting around Cramlington without a car covers the trains and buses.

Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

The emergency care hospital is on Northumbria Way, NE23 6NZ, reached from the A189 at East Cramlington. Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust raised its parking charges on 1 June 2026. The tariff is now:

  • Up to 30 minutes: free
  • Up to 2 hours: £3.20
  • Up to 3 hours: £4.20
  • Up to 4 hours: £5.20
  • Up to 24 hours: £6.20

Take a ticket at the barrier on the way in and pay at a pay station before you leave (coins, notes and cards). The car parks use number plate recognition, and the trust says that from July 2026 parking is patrolled, with a £50 parking charge notice (£25 if paid within 14 days) for not paying or not parking within a marked bay.

Blue Badge holders park free in the designated bays. There are also free drop-off and pick-up lay-bys with a 20-minute maximum stay, which you can also use to collect a prescription from the pharmacy.

Best for:

Dropping someone at A&E? Use the 20-minute lay-bys rather than the main car park, and leave the main car park within 30 minutes if you want to avoid paying.

Plessey Woods Country Park

Plessey Woods, on the A192 at Hartford Bridge just north of town, has a pay and display car park at the main entrance by the visitor centre. Northumberland County Council lists the charges as:

  • First hour: free
  • Up to two hours: £2.50
  • Over two hours: £4.50

The vehicle gates are open during daylight hours. More on what to do there is in our guide to parks and green spaces in Cramlington.

Northumberlandia

Northumberlandia, the landform sculpture on Blagdon Lane (NE23 8AU), has a car park with no charge. Northumberland Wildlife Trust asks for a suggested £2 donation towards the site's upkeep. The site is open from dawn to dusk every day, and the Northumberlandia Cafe is in the visitor centre beside the car park.

EV charging

Zapmap lists public charge points at several Cramlington locations, including:

  • Manor Walks: rapid chargers on the Fuuse network, plus slower chargers on EV Charge.Online
  • Willow Farm: rapid chargers on the Evyve network
  • Northumberlandia car park: fast and rapid chargers on Fuuse
  • Brockwell Centre: fast and rapid chargers on Fuuse
  • McDonald's Moor Farm: a rapid charger on InstaVolt
  • Aldi Cramlington and Percy Street
  • Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital car park

Prices and availability vary by network, so check the Zapmap app before you set off. Parking time limits and charges still apply while you charge. Our guide to EV charging in Cramlington has more on each site, how to pay and home charging.

Blue Badge parking

Under the national Blue Badge scheme, badge holders can usually park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, with the badge and clock displayed, unless there is a ban on loading or unloading. In Cramlington:

  • The Manor Walks and council car parks have no charge in any case.
  • Westmorland Retail Park has designated Blue Badge bays.
  • Blue Badge holders park free in the designated bays at the emergency care hospital.
  • There are no accessible bays in the station car park, according to Northern.
