About St Paul's Catholic Church
St Paul's was built as the Catholic church for Cramlington new town, designed by the Newcastle architect David Brown and opened in July 1970. The purple-brick building has a pitched steel roof with a central spirelet, a mosaic and sculpture of the conversion of St Paul above the entrance, and a light, open interior with a gallery at the west end and a cafe area.
The parish, in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, also includes St John the Baptist at Annitsford. It holds weekend and weekday Masses, with a coffee morning after Wednesday Mass, and publishes current times on its website.
