Wedding Venues Near Cramlington

Wedding venues near Cramlington: exclusive-use country venues at Blagdon and Horton Grange, a hotel with function suites at Seaton Burn, and how to give notice and book a register office ceremony in Northumberland.

Cramlington.live·

Cramlington doesn't have a grand country house of its own. But the strip of countryside between the town and the A1 around Seaton Burn and Blagdon has some of the most popular wedding venues north of Newcastle, and most are 10 minutes or less by car. This guide covers two exclusive-use country venues and a large hotel with function suites. It also explains how the legal side works if you'd rather keep things simple with a register office ceremony.

We checked each venue's own website in November 2026 for capacities and ceremony options. Packages and prices change every season, so we haven't quoted any. Ask each venue for its current brochure.

The Parlour at Blagdon

The Parlour at Blagdon is based at Blagdon Smithy on the Old Great North Road, just west of Cramlington near Seaton Burn. It's offered on an exclusive-use basis, so yours is the only wedding on the day. You can marry inside the Grade II listed smithy or outdoors in the courtyard.

The venue says it seats up to 90 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 175 for the evening, with bedrooms on site and its own catering team. It suits couples who want something intimate and rustic without travelling far into Northumberland. To arrange a show-round, call 01670 789935.

Best for: Exclusive use, a listed smithy for the ceremony and bedrooms on site, a few minutes from town.

Horton Grange Country House

Horton Grange Country House is a Grade II listed house set in four acres of landscaped gardens on Berwick Hill Road, between Seaton Burn and Ponteland. Here too you take exclusive use of the house and grounds. Ceremonies can be held in the Barn, the Garden Room or outdoors in the gardens.

The venue gives capacities of up to 100 guests in the day and 150 in the evening, and there are nine bedrooms in the house for the wedding party. It also runs open days, so check its website for the next date. Call 01661 860686 or email weddings@hortongrange.co.uk.

Best for: A listed country house and gardens for exclusive use, about ten minutes from Cramlington.

Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park

For a bigger guest list, the Holiday Inn Newcastle Gosforth Park on the Great North Road at Seaton Burn is the obvious local choice. It has 151 bedrooms, a pool and plenty of parking. Wedding directories list it as licensed for civil ceremonies, with function suites and an outdoor pavilion for ceremonies, and they give capacities of around 280 to 300 guests.

We could only confirm those wedding details through third-party listings, not the hotel's own pages. Ask the hotel's events team to confirm the current licence, rooms and packages before you book. Having so many bedrooms on site is a real plus when guests are travelling from further afield.

Best for: Large-capacity hotel option at the A1/A19 junction, with rooms for all your guests.

Register office ceremonies

If you want a small legal ceremony, the process runs through Northumberland County Council. Both partners must give notice at least 28 full days before the wedding or civil partnership. You book the notice appointment through the council on 0345 600 6400. Ceremonies are arranged by the council's ceremony co-ordination team, which you can reach on 01665 602870.

Cramlington Register Office in the Community Hub on Forum Way is listed for registering births and deaths. When you book, ask which Northumberland ceremony rooms are available. The council has said Morpeth Town Hall remains a ceremony venue. Fees depend on the room and the day, so ask for the current price when you book.

Tips for booking

  • Visit before you commit. Most venues run show-rounds or open days, and it's the best way to judge the space for your numbers.
  • Book accommodation early. Our best hotels in Cramlington guide lists places for guests to stay.
  • Allow for the 28 days' notice. Even with a venue booked, you can't legally marry until the notice period has passed.
