Cramlington.live·

A dripping tap can wait a day. A boiler that dies in January or a pipe that bursts under the floor cannot. If you are new to Cramlington, it helps to have a plumber's number saved before you need it.

Below are three plumbing and heating firms that work in the town. One has a unit on the Baker Road industrial estate, one is a mobile engineer based in Cramlington, and one is a wider North East firm with a 24-hour emergency line that covers NE23. We checked each one's website or business page in November 2026, and all three were taking work. None publishes fixed prices, so ask for a written quote, or the call-out charge and hourly rate, before work starts.

RF Henderson Heating

RF Henderson Heating is a family-run heating business at Unit 10 Easter Park on Baker Road. The firm says it has been keeping homes warm since 1979, and the company behind it has been registered at Companies House since 2009.

Most of its work is on boilers: new installations, annual servicing and breakdown repairs, along with central heating upgrades and bathroom fitting. It also sells boiler care plans if you would rather pay monthly for servicing and cover. Its website shows accreditation with several boiler makers, including Worcester, Vaillant, Baxi and Ideal, which can matter for extended warranties on a new boiler. Call 01670 735577.

Best for: a boiler replacement or a long-term servicing arrangement with an established local firm.

Northumberland Plumbing and Gas

Northumberland Plumbing and Gas is a mobile plumbing and gas engineer based in Cramlington. It also works in Blyth, Seaton Delaval and Seghill. It describes itself as Gas Safe registered and posts recent jobs on its business profile, including combi boiler installs in Cramlington homes.

It covers new boilers, servicing and repairs, landlord gas safety certificates (CP12), emergency call-outs and everyday plumbing such as leaks, taps, toilets and radiators. There is no website, so ring 07784 849009.

Best for: landlords who need a gas safety certificate, and smaller jobs where you want a local engineer.

PK Plumbing

PK Plumbing is a plumbing and heating firm that works across the North East. It has a page on its website for Cramlington and also covers Seaton Burn, Bedlington and Seghill. It runs a round-the-clock emergency service as well as booked jobs, and uses Gas Safe registered engineers for gas work.

It deals with burst pipes and leaks, boiler breakdowns and installations, central heating faults, blocked drains and leak detection. Call 01670 468035, and confirm the call-out charge when you ring, especially at night or at the weekend.

Best for: emergencies outside normal working hours, and drainage or hidden leaks.

How to choose a plumber in Cramlington

  • Gas work needs a Gas Safe engineer. By law, anyone who works on your boiler, gas fire or gas hob must be on the Gas Safe Register. Ask to see their ID card, then check the card number on the Gas Safe Register website or by phoning the register, and check that the card covers the type of appliance involved.
  • Get it in writing. For anything bigger than a call-out, ask for a written quote that lists the boiler model, the parts, any flushing of the system and the guarantee.
  • Ask about the warranty. Boiler makers often give longer warranties when an accredited installer fits the boiler and registers it, so ask who handles the registration.
  • Keep the paperwork. A Gas Safe installer notifies a new boiler under the Building Regulations on your behalf, and you should then receive a compliance certificate. Keep it, because you will need it when you sell the house.
  • Know where your stopcock is. In most Cramlington homes it is under the kitchen sink. Finding it before a leak starts can save you a ceiling.
