Best Brunch in Cramlington
Where to go for brunch in Cramlington, from eggs benedict, pancakes and shakshuka served all day at Coltello Lounge to the Benedicts at John the Clerk and avocado on sourdough at Willow Farm.
Cramlington does not have an independent cafe that specialises in brunch, and we could not find anywhere in town offering a bottomless brunch. What it does have is three places where you can order the brunch classics: eggs benedict, pancakes and smashed avocado. One of them serves its brunch menu all day, which is the one to choose for a slow weekend morning. If you just want a fry-up or something early before work, see our breakfast guide instead.
Menus and serving times change, and the details below come from each venue's own website. Please check before you set off, especially at weekends.
Coltello Lounge
Coltello Lounge is the Loungers cafe bar on the South Mall at Manor Walks, and it is the closest thing Cramlington has to a proper brunch spot. It opens at 9am every day, and the brunch section of the Lounges menu is marked as served all day, so there is no rush to get there before noon.
The menu runs from a Lounge breakfast and a veggie breakfast to Lounge eggs benedict, shakshuka, Scandi smoked salmon, a smashed avocado brunch and the Byron Bay brunch. There are two stacks of buttermilk pancakes, one with smoked streaky bacon and maple syrup and a sweet one with blueberries, maple mascarpone and berry compote. It has separate gluten-free and vegan menus, it is dog-friendly, and walk-ins are welcome for groups of up to six.
Best for: The only all-day brunch menu in town, and the easiest place to linger.
John the Clerk of Cramlington
John the Clerk of Cramlington, the Wetherspoon in the old village, is better known for its fry-ups, but its breakfast menu has a short brunch section too. Breakfast is served from 8am to 12 noon.
There are three Benedicts on an English muffin with hollandaise: classic eggs benedict with ham, a mushroom version, and the Miner's Benedict with black pudding. The American breakfast adds pancakes and maple-flavour syrup to the eggs and bacon, there is a stack of American-style pancakes on its own, and a smashed avocado muffin. If you miss the noon cut-off, the main menu, from 11.30am, has an all-day brunch plate with eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and chips.
Best for: A Benedict and a refillable coffee, as long as you order before noon.
Willow Farm
Willow Farm, the Farmhouse Inns carvery pub on Northumberland Business Park, is an earlier option, as its website says breakfast is served until 11am. Alongside the buffet, its menu has a short list of brunch-style plates.
You can order eggs benedict on toast, an avocado and roasted pepper smash (with a vegan version on sourdough with a Napolitana sauce), smashed avocado with two poached eggs, or scrambled free-range eggs on toasted sourdough. It opens at 8am, so it suits a mid-morning brunch rather than a late one.
Best for: Eggs and avocado on sourdough, if you can get there before 11.
