Coffee Shops and Cafes in Cramlington

Most of Cramlington's cafes are in or around Manor Walks, the town centre shopping area, so a coffee is rarely more than a few minutes from the shops, the bus station or Concordia. The rest are spread out: a Starbucks drive-thru near the hospital, a cafe inside a charity-run garden centre on Station Road, and the visitor centre cafe at Northumberlandia on the southern edge of town. Cafe hours change through the year, and shopping centre cafes often close earlier than the centre itself. Please check opening times with each cafe before you set off.

Bettini's

Bettini's is a small cafe inside Manor Walks. The centre describes it as a friendly, welcoming coffee shop serving coffee, smoothies and frappes alongside homemade breakfasts, lunches and cakes, and the cafe's own Facebook page talks up its own blend of freshly ground coffee.

Reviewers mention bacon sandwiches and cooked breakfasts most often. Its seating is in the mall, so it can be noisy when the centre is busy. It holds the top food hygiene rating of 5.

Best for: A bacon sandwich and a proper coffee in the middle of the shops.

Kitchen Cafe

Kitchen Cafe, listed by the food hygiene register as The Cramlington Kitchen, is another sit-down cafe inside Manor Walks. It serves freshly made sandwiches, toasties and paninis, with homemade soup, muffins and scones, and tea, coffee and smoothies to go with them.

It also does outside catering for meetings and occasions. Reviewers praise the friendly staff and the coffee, and it is listed as catering well for gluten-free diets.

Best for: Soup and a toastie, or a scone with your tea.

Muffin Break

Muffin Break at Craster Court in Manor Walks is part of a franchise chain, but it bakes on site. Muffins, cakes and savoury bakes are made fresh each day in its kitchen, and the coffee is its own arabica blend.

Its own store page gives opening times of 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 4.30pm on Sunday. It is a good choice for a muffin and a coffee before the shops get busy.

Best for: Something freshly baked with an early coffee.

Coltello Lounge

Coltello Lounge on the South Mall is a cafe bar run by Loungers, and it opened in November 2023. It serves food all day from 9am, so it covers breakfast, brunch and coffee as well as evening drinks, and it stays open until 10pm or later.

It is the most family-friendly and dog-friendly option in the centre. There are board games and toys for children, treats for dogs, and separate gluten-free and vegan menus. Walk-ins are welcome for groups of up to six.

Best for: Brunch with the kids, or a coffee with the dog.

Pausa at Dunelm

Inside Dunelm at Westmorland Retail Park, next to Manor Walks, Pausa is the store's own coffee shop. Dunelm says its Pausa cafes serve everything from hearty breakfasts to sweet treats. It holds a food hygiene rating of 5, last confirmed in October 2026. The store has its own car park and toilets.

Best for: A sit-down break in the middle of a big shop.

Starbucks, Northumbria Way

Starbucks on Northumbria Way is a drive-thru coffee shop near the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. The Northumberland Gazette reported that it opened in June 2024 as part of the NHS Health and Education Hub development there.

It keeps the longest hours of any cafe in this guide, from 6am to 8.30pm every day according to the Starbucks store locator. It also has wifi and mobile order and pay.

Best for: A coffee on the way to work, or after a hospital visit.

Cafe Azure at Azure Garden Centre

Cafe Azure is inside Azure Garden Centre on Station Road, which is run by Azure, a Cramlington charity supporting disabled and disadvantaged people. Spending money there helps fund the charity's work.

The cafe has outdoor seating and an outdoor play area, open when the weather allows, and reviewers recommend its afternoon tea. Its own hours are shorter than the garden centre's, from 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 3pm on Sunday. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the garden centre but not in the cafe or the outdoor dining and play area.

Best for: Lunch among the plants, with a play area for the children.

Northumberlandia Cafe

The visitor centre at Northumberlandia, the huge reclining landform figure off Blagdon Lane, has a small cafe run by the Northumberland Wildlife Trust. It serves hot drinks and snacks, and dogs on leads are welcome inside the visitor centre and cafe.

The Trust lists the cafe as open daily from 10am to 4pm, with hot food until 3.15pm, though other listings give different days, and winter hours can be shorter. Parking is on site, with a suggested donation towards its upkeep.

Best for: A warm drink after a walk round the Lady of the North.

Tips for visiting

• Early coffee: Starbucks opens at 6am, and Muffin Break from 8am on weekdays.
• With a dog: Coltello Lounge and Northumberlandia Cafe both welcome dogs. Cafe Azure does not allow them in the cafe.
• With children: Coltello Lounge has games and toys, and Cafe Azure has an outdoor play area.
• Gluten-free: Coltello Lounge has a dedicated gluten-free menu, and Kitchen Cafe is listed for its gluten-free options.
• Later in the day: most of the Manor Walks cafes close by late afternoon, but Coltello Lounge stays open into the evening.
