Best Hairdressers and Barbers in Cramlington

Where to get your hair cut in Cramlington, from LMR Hair & Spa on West Farm Court and The Head Gardner on Church Street to the barbers of Manor Walks and the Village Barber Shop.

Cramlington.live·

Cramlington has plenty of places to get a haircut, but they are spread out. Most of the barbers are inside the Manor Walks shopping centre, so you can fit a trim around the shops, while the salons for cuts, colour and blow dries are out in the neighbourhood parades. This guide covers six of them: two hairdressers and four barbers.

Opening hours and prices change, and the details below were correct at the time of writing. They come from each business's own website, the Manor Walks store directory or its booking listing. Please check before you go, especially on Sundays and Mondays.

Hairdressers

LMR Hair & Spa

LMR Hair & Spa is at 4 West Farm Court, and it publishes its full price list online. At the time of writing its price list shows a ladies' cut and blow dry at £40, a blow dry at £33 and a wet cut at £29, with ombré or balayage at £86 and a full head tint at £71. Girls' cuts start at £16, and there is a separate, lower price list for pensioners, including a cut and blow dry at £26.

The salon also does perms, Joico treatments, hair extensions (priced at a consultation) and dressed hair such as scalp plaits and fishtails, and on the spa side it offers massage, semi-permanent makeup and aesthetic treatments. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays and opens until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Book by phone on 01670 736886 or through the salon's Facebook Messenger link.

Best for: Clear published prices, late appointments twice a week and reduced prices for pensioners.

The Head Gardner

The Head Gardner is a hairdresser at 1 Church Street. Its listed services cover women's and children's cuts, blow dries, colouring and balayage, perms and keratin treatments. It is listed as open Tuesday to Saturday, with a later finish at 7pm on Thursdays, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. There is no online booking, so phone the salon on 01670 732746.

Best for: A neighbourhood salon for cuts and colour, booked by phone.

Barbers

Trims for Him

Trims for Him is a men's barber at Unit 86 in Manor Walks. The centre's directory describes it as cutting, trimming and styling hair and beards for men. It is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. The shop's number is 01670 739191.

Best for: A straightforward men's cut or beard trim while you are at the shops.

Zanko Barber

Zanko Barber trades from kiosks 3 and 8 in the West Mall of Manor Walks, and calls itself "a one stop shop for all your barbering needs", from cuts to beard trims and styling. Unlike Trims for Him, it opens on Sundays, from 10am to 4pm, as well as 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. Its number is 07598 372559.

Best for: One of the few places in town for a Sunday haircut.

Fade Zone

Fade Zone is a men's grooming shop at Unit 26 in Manor Walks. Alongside haircuts and beard styling, the centre lists eyebrow threading and perms among its services. It has the longest weekday hours of the Manor Walks barbers, open 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Best for: Late finishes at 6pm, and threading as well as fades.

Village Barber Shop

Away from the shopping centre, the Village Barber Shop is at 4 Church Street, on the same street as The Head Gardner. It is listed for men's haircuts, beard trims and head shaves, and it is an early opener: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays. Call 01670 730074.

Best for: The pick for a cut before work, with an 8am start on Saturdays.

Tips for getting your hair cut in Cramlington

  • Booking: we could not find online booking for any of the barbers, so phone ahead or call in and ask about waiting times. For colour, perms or extensions, book a salon in advance, and ask whether you need a patch test first.
  • Sundays: Zanko Barber and Fade Zone are open on Sundays from 10am to 4pm. Both salons and the other barbers are closed.
  • Late appointments: LMR is open until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and The Head Gardner until 7pm on Thursdays.
  • Early starts: the Village Barber Shop opens at 8.30am on weekdays and 8am on Saturdays.
  • Prices: LMR publishes its full price list online. For the barbers, ask when you arrive, as prices are not published.
  • Combine it with the shops: three of the four barbers are inside Manor Walks, which is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday, so a trim fits easily around a shopping trip.
