Best Dentists in Cramlington

The dental practices in Cramlington, from Burnett Dental Group and The Village Dentists in the old village to Rivenhall on High Pit Road and Cramlington Dental Centre on Middle Farm Square, with NHS and urgent care tips.

Cramlington.live·

Cramlington has four dental practices, three of them clustered around the old village and one on High Pit Road. They range from a long-established independent practice with its own 3D scanning equipment to a private practice inside a converted church. This guide covers what each one offers, how to contact them and what we found about NHS places.

Finding an NHS dentist taking on new adult patients is hard across Northumberland, and Cramlington is no exception. Availability changes week to week, so treat the NHS details below as a snapshot and check the NHS find a dentist service or ring the practice before you rely on them.

Burnett Dental Group

Burnett Dental Group is an independent practice at 8 Church Street in Cramlington Village. It was founded in 1984 and has three surgeries. Its website lists orthodontics (it is an Invisalign provider), dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and whitening, facial aesthetics and emergency appointments, along with digital 3D imaging, a cone beam CT scanner and an iTero scanner for digital impressions instead of moulds.

The practice says it offers NHS treatment for children up to 18, while adult care is mainly private, with a monthly maintenance plan covering routine check-ups and hygiene visits and finance options for larger treatment. It also takes one-off emergency appointments for people who are not registered patients. At the time of writing, NHS.uk showed it was not accepting new NHS patients for routine care. NHS.uk lists it as open weekdays from 8.30am, until 6pm on Mondays and Thursdays and mornings only on Wednesdays. Phone 01670 716671.

Best for: The most established practice in town, and worth knowing for NHS children's care and emergency slots for unregistered patients.

The Village Dentists

The Village Dentists occupies The Old Church on Village Road, also in the old village. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) describes it as a practice providing private treatment to adults and children. At its last CQC inspection it had two treatment rooms and a team that included a dental therapist and a hygienist as well as dentists.

That inspection noted late opening until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is useful if you work office hours, but check the current times when you call. There are steps at the front with a portable ramp for wheelchair and pushchair users, parking nearby, and blue badge holders can park in front of the building. Phone 01670 715133.

Best for: A private practice in a converted church, with evening appointments noted at its last inspection.

Rivenhall Dental Practice

Rivenhall Dental Practice is on High Pit Road (NE23 6RA). Its website covers general and children's dentistry, white fillings, crowns, bridges and veneers, root canal treatment, dentures, orthodontics, teeth whitening and smile makeovers, and it publishes a private and Denplan price list.

At the time of writing, NHS.uk showed Rivenhall was not accepting new NHS patients for routine care, but said the practice may offer urgent appointments at short notice and advice on out-of-hours treatment. It is open on weekdays from 8.30am and closed at weekends. Phone 01670 712221.

Best for: A broad general and cosmetic menu, with Denplan as an option if you want to spread the cost.

Cramlington Dental Centre

Cramlington Dental Centre is at Quarryside House on Middle Farm Square in the old village. CQC records show the practice came under a new provider, Denmark Street Dental Practice Limited, in April 2026, registered to treat adults and children.

We could not find a practice website or a current NHS.uk profile at the time of writing, so ring 01670 712100 to ask about registering, whether it offers NHS or private care, and opening times.

Best for: Under new ownership since 2026: call to check how it takes on new patients.

Tips for finding a dentist in Cramlington

  • You do not register with a dentist the way you do with a GP. Any practice with NHS capacity can see you, so ring round rather than waiting on one list.
  • Check NHS.uk first. The find a dentist search shows whether each practice says it is taking new NHS adults or children, with the date the practice last updated it.
  • Children's care: Burnett Dental Group offers NHS treatment for under-18s.
  • Dental pain or swelling: contact your usual practice first. If you do not have one, or it is out of hours, use NHS 111 online or call 111 for urgent dental care. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
  • Private plans: Burnett runs its own monthly maintenance plan and Rivenhall offers Denplan, which spread routine costs.
  • Check before you go: opening times and NHS availability change, so call ahead.
